Becoming Her: Oh My Goodness... I'm so Offended!!!

Sometimes I still can’t believe God called me to share the parts of my story I used to hide. But honestly? I’m so glad He did. Every blog, every devotional, every conversation I feel a little more free. I’ve battled offense since I was a young adult. It clouded my view of healthy relationships and made me feel like I had to constantly protect myself. But the closer I got to God, the more I realized… It’s time to let offense go. It’s time for a heart check.


Prayer:
Father God,
I want to thank you for being a loving and forgiving Father. I thank you for showing us areas in our hearts that you want to remove the bad and replace with more of you. Today I ask that you bring forth any areas of offense in our hearts and help us to replace offense with more of you and your word God. I thank you for loving us past our mess, for seeing us as your beautiful creation. God be with us as we deal with and guard our hearts. We thank you in advance for all that you're doing and all that you're going to do with our open hearts and our bruises. We surrender them all to you God.

Man I think this was my favorite one yet! God keeps pushing me to check my heart, to read my word and not just relate to the prophets of the Bible but to see the areas in my life where I might be showing up like a hard headed Israelite or a hypocritical Pharisee. We all fall short and we all have a real enemy who has come to kill, steal, and destroy, but as we stay at the feet of Heavenly Father that’s where we find strength to fight, healing for our bruises, love to love those that at times seem unloveable. Thank you for pouring your heart out and giving us a gentle reminder of the enemy that…
